Background On the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, NASCAR’s most favorite driver will hit the track at Lowe’s Motor Speedway for NASCAR’s Nationwide Series race. The CarQuest Auto Parts 300, which will air on ESPN2 at 7:30 pm EST, has quickly become one of the most popular Nationwide Series races of the year as several big-name Cup drivers including Dale Junior try to win in their own backyard of Concord, NC. In what is surely to make this an even more special night for JR Nation, Earnhardt Jr. will drive the No 83 NAVY Chevrolet with a very special paint scheme that insiders are simply calling Dale JR Division. What is Jr's Division? Dale JR Division is a marketing program to help the NAVY recruit new sailors. The recruits that join Dale JR Division will share in the pride of representing the division of NASCAR’s most popular driver and will be part of a meet-n-greet with Dale JR himself upon graduation of boot camp. The NAVY is also planning a national advertising campaign to promote Dale JR Division and the importance of joining the NAVY. The Car The No 83 NAVY Dale JR Division car that Dale JR will drive at LMS on May 24 is a design that has captured the anticipation of fans and collectors alike. With the Dale Jr’s Division logo on the hood of the car and a predominately black and orange paint scheme, this car is unlike anything Junior has ever driven or will ever drive again. The NAVY will activate against this campaign; however it’s the only time this year that JR will drive the #83 Dale Jr Division NS car, making the die-cast, apparel and novelty truly collectable items for years to come.
